Updated Squad of Team India for Ind vs Eng 5th Test

The Indian team for the fifth and final Test match against England was revealed on Thursday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Additionally, both Team India and England Cricket Team have reached Dharamshala for the fifth test match on Sunday, 3 March. 

The Ind vs Eng 5th test will take place at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium on March 7. India secured a commanding 3-1 lead in the series with a victory against England in the fourth Test. 

Updates from BCCI regarding the squad for Ind vs Eng 5th test

KL Rahul’s availability for the previous Test match was dependent on fitness. He is still not expected to play in the Ind vs Eng 5 test match. As per an official press release. The BCCI Medical Team is keeping a careful eye on him and working with experts in London to manage his body going forward.

The BCCI on Thursday announced the revised India lineup for the fifth and final Test match against England in Dharamsala. It also marks star pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the side. After the fourth Test in Ranchi, Bumrah took a break to manage his workload.  

The fast bowler will most likely replace Akash Deep in the starting lineup right away after making a solid debut in the last game.

The BCCI stated that Jasprit Bumrah, who was cut from the team for the fourth Test in Ranchi. He would join the team in Dharamsala for the fifth Match. 

In Rahul’s absence, Rajat Patidar has batted at No. 4 in the last three Tests. The Madhya Pradesh right-hander’s lackluster show in the six innings he batted. His best score of 32 and two ducks—is probably going to provide space for Devdutt Padikkal. 

The left-hander will follow Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Akash Deep as the fifth Indian debutant in the current series.

Washington Sundar has been released from the team. He will play for his Ranji Trophy team, Tamil Nadu, in their match against Mumbai in the Semi-finals, which begins on March 2. “He will join the Team India after the end of the domestic fixture for the fifth Test if required,” stated the BCCI.

It also says that pacer Mohammed Shami has had ankle surgery on February 26 and he will soon head to NCA Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation.

After defeating England in Ranchi by 5 wickets, Team India has now secured a 3-1 lead in the 5-match series. With both teams playing on a wicket that was unpredictable and gave spinners an extra advantage. The Ranchi Test was one of the most intriguing tests to date. 

Shoaib Bashir of England and Ravichandran Ashwin of India secured field goals to keep their teams in the match.

In the fourth Test, Team India beat England by five wickets to win the series 17 times in a row at home in Ranchi on Monday. India survived a few nervous moments to resume day four at 40 for no loss. Before chasing down the 192-run goal in the afternoon session.

After overcoming a middle-order collapse, India’s went on to win the game, thanks to an unbeaten 72-run partnership between Shubman Gill (52* off 124 balls) and Dhruv Jurel (39* off 77). Rohit Sharma (55 off 81) built an 84-run partnership with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) in the morning session.
