The Womens IPL auction has just concluded on February 12 at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. It was conducted by Mallika Sagar.

So many good players went under the hammer and we have seen some interesting buys in the Womens IPL auction. One of the highlights in the Women’s IPL auction was Smriti Mandhana. She was bought by the franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs. 3.4 crore. She becomes the most expensive buy of the Womens IPL auction 2023.

There are other players as well who got the big amount across the 5 franchises. Some players went unsold as well. Today, we will see the list of the Top 10 expensive buys in the Womens IPL auction 2023 (WPL auction). Let’s see the list.

Top 10 expensive buys and their price tags in the Womens IPL auction 2023 (WPL auction):-

(1) Smriti Mandhana

The Indian opening left-hander is the most expensive buy of the inaugural Womens IPL auction 2023. Smriti Mandhana will play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the WPL 2023. RCB bought her for Rs. 3.4 INR in the WPL auction.

(2) Natalie Sciver

Natalie Sciver is the joint most expensive overseas player in the Womens IPL auction 2023. An English all-rounder went to Mumbai Indians (MI) for a whopping Rs. 3.2 crore INR.

She is a very good all-rounder who can bring balance to the MI’s team.

(3) Ashliegh Gardner

Another all-rounder who can bat aggressively and can bowl a good off-break. She will play for Gujarat Giants (GG) in the Womens IPL 2023.

An Aussie all rounder is the third in the list but is the joint most expensive player with Rs. 3.2 crore INR. She is the first Aussie player bought by the franchise in Womens IPL. English all-rounder Natalie Sciver also got the same amount in the WPL auction 2023.

(4) Deepti Sharma

Deepti Sharma, an Indian off-break bowler has just completed 100 T20I wickets in T20 cricket. She is the first Indian to achieve this milestone.

Deepti reached to this milestone when she bowled an outstanding spell of 3 for 15 against West Indies (WI) in a World Cup game. She took 89 games to achieve this record.

A UP-based franchise, UP Warriorz bought her for a whopping Rs. 2.6 crore. At one stage, MI was also interested in buying her. But UP wins the race in the Womens IPL auction 2023.

(5) Jemimah Rodrigues

Delhi Capitals bought her for Rs. 2.2 crore INR in the WPL auction 2023. She is one of the marquee players on the list and will play an important role for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the WPL 2023.

(6) Shafali Verma

The Indian opener is one of the aggressive openers in world cricket right now and will be donning DC colors in the Womens IPL 2023. She also led the Womens Under 19 team to a trophy win recently and could be in contention for the role of captaincy as well.

In the Womens IPL auction 2023, Delhi Capitals bought her for INR Rs. 2 crores.

(7) Beth Mooney

Gujrat Giants roped in for a legendary Aussie batter, Beth Mooney in the Womens IPL auction 2023. They got her for INR Rs. 2 crores in the WPL auction 2023. No doubt that it will be a huge signing for a franchise this time around.

(8) Richa Ghosh

She, along with the Women’s Under 19 skipper, S Verma, was a part of the team in the World Cup. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) managed to add her to the team for INR 1.9 crore.

(9) Pooja Vastrakar

She will be donning blue and gold in the Women’s Premier League 2023 (WPL 2023). MI bought her for INR 1.9 crore. Pooja is one of the all-rounders who bowled medium-fast pace and can bat in the middle order as well.

(10) Sophie Ecclestone

She was bought by UP Warriorz for INR 1.8 crore. English all-rounder becomes the 4th expensive player on the list.

(10) Harmanpreet Kaur

The Indian skipper also got INR 1.8 crore and will complete the list of the most expensive buys in the Womens IPL auction 2023. She was the first pick by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the WPL auction 2023.
