Shahid Afridi Invites Virat Kohli To Play In The PSL

Star Indian batter Virat Kohli recently made news with a statement wishing he could visit Pakistan, stirring a huge buzz on social media. Pakistani fans welcomed Kohli’s words well and showed just how lovely things are between the two countries over cricket.

That statement from him has gone viral on social media, showing a warm reception across the border.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi was excited about Virat Kohli’s wish to visit Pakistan. He invited him to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Kohli expresses his desire to visit Pakistan

A video has gone viral on social media as Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif. There he had the chance to speak to Team India batting star Virat Kohli on a video call. Kohli has plenty of fans in Pakistan. The 35-year-old says that he hopes to play in the nation soon, given teams have started visiting.

Shehroze Kashif shared a video on his official Instagram handle. He claims that he got in touch with an Indian national in Nepal in 2022, thus helping him get in touch with Kohli.

“In 2022, I was in Nepal. A stranger, originally from India (of course, not going to say his name, so he doesn’t get into any trouble, for political reasons), loved my work. He told me he was connected to the cricket team. So I joked to him that I want to talk to Virat Kohli.

He then texted Kohli on my behalf, and I ended up having the chance to talk to him via video call. As a Pakistani, I proudly claim Kohli to be the best batsman of this era.”

Shahid Afridi invites Kohli to play in the PSL

Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistan cricketer, has already welcomed Kohli’s statement. He said that the people of the two cricket-loving nations need to forge better relations with the help of PSL. Earlier, he had also been vocal about asking the Indian government to allow their cricket team to play in Pakistan and PSL. He also expressed his admiration for Kohli’s stance.

Shahid Afridi welcomed Kohli as part of the Indian national team or a player in the PSL during a public event in Karachi. Earlier, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also wished to play a Test series against Pakistan, further showing the player’s willingness to renew cricketing relations.

“Cricketers like Virat Kohli are ambassadors for their country. It was expected that Virat Kohli would make a statement of the same kind. Thanks a lot. We are looking forward to having you in Pakistan and playing with the Indian team or PSL. “It would be great if you came with the Indian team,” Shahid Afridi said.

Will Team India visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy?

With Pakistan booked as the hosts of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the main question going around the tournament is the participation of Team India. The Asia Cup 2023 was also supposed to be entirely hosted by Pakistan. But the BCCI refused to send its team to Pakistan and instead played its matches in Sri Lanka.

India last came to Pakistan in 2008. The terror attacks in Mumbai later that year have soured the cricket relations between them.

The two arch-rivals in cricket, India and Pakistan, meet once again in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. This event is going to take place across the USA and the West Indies, starting on June 1.

India’s campaign begins in New York on June 5. The huge India-Pakistan clash will take place on June 9 in New York during the group stage. Then, on June 12, India meets the USA, and on June 15, they will lock horns against Canada.

Virat Kohli’s RCB crash out of IPL 2024

Rajasthan Royals made it to the playoff 2 of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League with a 4-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

RCB, after being put in to bat first by RR skipper Sanju Samson, made 172 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Mahipal Lomror helped RCB to the total, while Avesh Khan picked up a three-fer.

The chase was done with an over to spare by Rajasthan, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 45-run knock. Riyan Parag added 36 runs before Rovman Powell’s unbeaten 16-run knock took his side over the line.

The season was one to remember for RCB as they were on the brink of exit after winning just one out of their first eight games. But they won their next six games by great margins and knocked out defending champions Chennai Super Kings in a virtual knockout clash to secure the final playoff spot based on net run rate.

However, the 17-year-long wait for the trophy continues after the loss to RR. But the team’s performance this season has won them a lot of acclaim from fans, experts, and players alike.
