Rishabh Pant Health Update- A good news for Team India as Rishabh Pant’s comeback would be a lot earlier than it was expected before. He is recovering well from multiple injuries and started his rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy (NCA). The Indian wicketkeeper batter met an accident last year in late December.

Rishabh Pant’s injury happened last year

The incident happened last year on new year’s Eve when Rishabh Pant was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee. His car collided with a divider on the Narsan boundary of Roorkee, near Hammadpur Jhal, Uttarakhand, when he fell asleep while driving.

Rishabh Pant had a miraculous escape as the car caught fire after a high-speed accident. He suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

Rishabh Pant had two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe, and suffered abrasion injuries in his back. They rushed him to the MAX hospital, and the BCCI has been taking full care of him since then.

Rishabh Pant went for surgery earlier this year. His medial collateral ligament has undergone a large treatment, while his anterior cruciate ligament has received a small procedure. However, his posterior cruciate ligament has long been a source of concern for medical professionals. The good news is that Pant’s development has been so encouraging that he no longer needs additional surgery, according to a recent update.

Speculations about the multiple surgeries of Rishabh Pant

There were some speculations about the multiple surgeries of Rishabh Pant. The BCCI official terminates all the speculation and said the speculations were inaccurate.

“Let’s make it clear that Pant never had multiple surgeries, as was speculated. There was much anxiety over another surgery. He was monitored every fortnight. Fortunately, his progress has been better than expected. This is a big boost for him. It could mean his comeback can happen a lot earlier than what was first expected,” said a BCCI official quoted by TOI.

Early comeback for Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant does not require any more surgeries. The doctors anticipated a minor surgery, but his recovery is better than expected.

Now, the focus will be on his rehab, and would be to come back to the training phase.

 “He is in good spirits. He can now walk considerably longer without a crutch. The focus of his rehab is now largely on strengthening. He should be in the back-to-play phase training soon.” – The BCCI official also added.

When Rishabh met an accident, the expectations were that he will almost miss 1.5 years of cricket, considering his conditions at that time. But the good news for Team India is that he is recovering well and will come back a lot earlier than expected.

Rishabh Pant is very important for Team India. He has done well for the team over the years, especially in Test Cricket. He is an X-Factor in the team who can take the game away from the opposition. The team will miss his services in the upcoming all-important ICC WTC Final against Australia.

Pant will miss international cricket in 2023

Pant is likely to miss the whole of 2023 which includes the Asia Cup and the all-important ICC World Cup, which will be played in India later this year. Team India will miss his services in those events.

Till now, Rishabh Pant has played 33 tests for India and scored 2271 runs with an average of 43.67. He also represented Team India in 30 ODIs and scored 865 runs at an average of 34.6.

In T20Is, he played 66 games and scored 987 runs at an average of 126.54.
