Before the start of the new season, there will be an auction. And the teams will also retain some of their players for season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League.

UP Yoddha (Pro Kabaddi retained players)
Nitesh Kumar
Captain N Kumar has done well in the season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi league. He himself was in great touch. Captain N Kumar scored 57 tackle points in 24 games and his team reached the final in his captaincy.
He was given 37.5 lakhs last season in the auction. And the UP based franchise might retain him for this season with 10% hike; in 41.2 lakhs.
Surender Gill
S Gill, the raider from UP Yoddha was given 25 lakh last year. He is in great touch in the season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League. S Gill take 189 raid points last season and he was the lead raider of the team.
The UP based franchise will look to retain him for this season after his performances in the last season.
He might be retained by the team for the same price 25 lakh, as the last year.
Sumit
Sumit, the defender from UP Yoddha was given 25 lakhs last year and there are possibilities that he will be retained by the franchise for this year’s Pro Kabaddi League season.
He scored 62 tackle points last year and performed well for his team.
The team will expect more good performances from him if thy retain him for this year’s Pro Kabaddi League season.
Ashu Singh
Ashu Singh played the role of cover in the UP Yoddha team last year. He has done well as compared to the other members of the team.
The defender scored 49 tackle points in the last season of the Kabaddi League. He might be retained for the price of Rs. 8 lakhs. The franchise might see him in a team for the long term and could retain him for the season 9.
We didn’t talk about Pradeep Narwal and Shrikant Jadhav because they are some of the most expensive buys from the team.
If they retain these two or either one of them, their purse will be lesser when they go into the auction table.
P Narwal was the most expensive buy last year with 1.65 crores. S Jadhav was also bought by UP Yoddha on 70+ lakhs price.
They will look to release these two and will buy them again at the same price or by the use of an FBM card.
Dabang Delhi KC (Pro Kabaddi retained players)
The Delhi based franchise has won its first-ever title last season (Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League). They beat Patna Pirates with a margin of just one point with the last score was 36-37.
Their team combination was good in the last season and they will look to retain some of the players which might help them to retain the title in season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Naveen Kumar
Considering his performances in the last season, the franchise might look to retain him.
He played a huge role in the success of the Dabang Delhi KC in the season 8. The raider scored 207 raid points in season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League and was the number one raider of the team.
Manjeet Chhillar (Pro Kabaddi retained players)
M Chhillar was one of the best defenders in the final of the Pro Kabaddi League season 8. Overall, he scored 52 tackle points in 24 games he played including two high fives and two super tackles.
He is a part of the leadership group and he captained the team in the absence of the regular captain J Narwal.
Joginder Narwal
Captain of the last year’s champions, Dabang Delhi KC, J Narwal might continue as a leader in season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League. The defender might be retained by the franchise. After he won the first title for Dabang Delhi in his captaincy.
Patna Pirates (Pro Kabaddi retained players)
The Patna-based franchise has done well in the last season of the Pro Kabaddi League. They reached the final but couldn’t make the final push.
They were just one point short of drawing the game. The players they might retain are:
Monu Goyat
M Goyat has done well in the initial phase of the league. He played 14 games and scored 77 raid points in the Pro Kabaddi League season 8. The franchise might look to give him another shot in the team.
Neeraj Kumar
He was one of the best defenders in the team not in the last year but for quite a few years now.
Looking at his important role in the team, they might retain him for the season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9.
Sachin Tanwar
He was the leading raider for the team last year and was one of the reasons for Patna Pirates’ reaching in the final.
The young raider scored 181 raid points and there is a no-brainer that the franchise will consider this performance to retain him for season 9 of the PKL.
