A Heart-Stopping Comment From CSK’S CEO On MS Dhoni Future

CSK’s CEO gives a heart-stopping comment MS Dhoni, says he might play the next season as well

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have lost their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Ruturaj Gaikwad has played a few shots but his inning didn’t last long.

Ajinkya Rahane also came in and played a few shots but he also became a victim of V Chakravarthy. CSK’s inning wasn’t doing well and at one stage, they were 72 for 5 after 11 overs.

Shivam Dube was batting brilliantly and along with Ravindra Jadeja, he stitched a partnership of 68 runs. The former remains not out on 48 off 34 balls with one four and 3 sixes. R Jadeja scored 20 off 24 as well. CSK scored 144 in the first inning.

When KKR came out to chase a target, they lost their first 3 wickets for just 33 runs. But then comes captain Nitish Rana and an in-form batter Rinku Singh. The pair added a match-winning 99 runs for the 4th wicket. Nitish Rana scored an unbeaten 57 off 44 balls and Rinku Singh scored 54 off 43 balls.

KKR won the match with 6 wickets and 9 balls to spare. With this loss, Chennai Super Kings have little threat of getting knocked out of a tournament if they lost their remaining game against Delhi Capitals (DC). There are a few other things to happen as well to get CSK knocked out of IPLL 2023. It is very hard but there is a possibility.

CSK’s CEO on MS Dhoni

Well, whatever, after this game, CSK’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan gives a heart-stopping statement on MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL. He said MS Dhoni might play the next season as well. After his statement, the internet broke and filled with this news. It is a very positive sign for MS Dhoni fans as they wanted to see their hero playing as long as possible.

We have seen MS Dhoni played his last international game in ICC World Cup 2019 against New Zealand in semi final. As expected, MS Dhoni has retired from international cricket. But MS was eager to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). We always heard time to time, since IPL 2020 that this time, it will be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season. He has played in the IPL 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. And now CSK’s CEO also said he might continue to play in the next IPL season.

MS Dhoni hinted about his last season in IPL 2023

Throughout the IPL 2023, there were some hints suggesting that it will be his last IPL season. After the game against SRH last month, MS Dhoni said- “All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play”.

A few weeks later, when a sea of yellow had invaded the Eden Gardens, breaking into “Dhoni” chants repeatedly, the CSK skipper, in the post-match presentation said: “They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd.”

After a match against RR in Jaipur also, MS Dhoni said how his first Vizag 100 gave him a chance to play in the next 10 games. But his 2nd hundred in Jaipur gave him an assurance to play for at least one year.

All of these hints and the talk around the fraternity say that MS Dhoni will not play the next season.

MS Dhoni going through knee issues as well

Also, MS Dhoni has been going through knee issues right from the IPL 2023 started. MS Dhoni’s knee issue was confirmed by CSK’s coach, S. Fleming.

The supporters were worried when they saw Dhoni limping and wearing a knee cap in a viral video of CSK’s lap of honor following their final league game in Chepauk on Sunday.

MS Dhoni was distributing some balls and T-Shirts in the stands of Chepauk as it was the last league stage game of CSK. The great legend Sunil Gavaskar also took an autograph from him and then MS hugged him as well after that.

After the toss against LSG’s game, D Morrison asked MS Dhoni if he is enjoying his last IPL season. MS Dhoni cheekily said that- “You have decided it is my last IPL, not me.”

What CSK’s CEO said about MS Dhoni’s future?

He said- “We believe MS Dhoni is going to play next season as well. I hope fans will continue to support us like every time.”

There is no official confirmation from MS Dhoni himself. As we know, MS Dhoni is not the kind of person who expresses themselves and clears everything. If he didn’t want to play again, he will come and quietly retire as we saw earlier in international cricket, whether it is white-ball cricket or test cricket.

What do you think? Will MS Dhoni play the next season as well? He is doing well in IPL 2023, playing like a vintage MS Dhoni who came in and hit sixes.

In the IPL 2023 so far, he has scored 98 runs in 12 games with an average of 49 and an outstanding strike rate of 196. People would love to see him batting more at the top.
